The Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong has been ranked amongst the top tiers in Schools of Education around the world (ranked 7th in the 2017 QS ranking for Education;  and 4th among the top Education Faculties by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for Education 2018 ).

In recent years, colleagues in the Faculty of Education have emphasised the importance of STEM education, and have paid increasing attention to the role that mathematical modelling and its applications play in the teaching and learning of mathematics.
