The International Community of Teachers of Mathematical Modeling and Applications (ICTMA) is an affiliated study group of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI), a commission of the International Mathematical Union (IMU). Started in 1983 in the UK, ICTMA has been a biennial conference held in different cities all over the world. ICTMA conference series provides a forum for discussing all aspects of teaching applications and modelling in all areas and at all levels of mathematics education - from primary to secondary schools, at colleges and universities.

Mission Statement

The International Community of Teachers of Mathematical Modelling and Applications is a membership organisation that exists to promote Applications and Modelling (A&M) in all areas of mathematics education - primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities.

The Community, through its membership, research and other activities, is recognised as 'The International Study Group for Mathematical Modelling and Applications (ICTMA)' by its affiliation to the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI).
